Nico SleatorNico Sleator is a New York-based pianist, drummer, composer, and teacher whose expertise spans classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary music.
Nico has prepared students for recitals at Steinway Hall and regular performances with the Piano Teachers Congress of New York. He offers piano and drum lessons for all ages and skill levels, combining a creative, goal-oriented approach with disciplined and methodical instruction. Music lessons with Nico are both meaningful and technically challenging.
His performing career has taken him across the United States and Canada, including an extensive run opening for Rob Zombie, and he served as Musical Director for the Ultimate Queen Celebration. He has since built a strong scoring career, creating music for global brands like McDonald’s and Hornbach. Throughout his career he has received accolades like Best Composition from the German Advertising Film Academy, the Creative Entrepreneur Grant from Pittsburgh Partners in the Arts, Best Sound and Musical Score at the Atlanta Fringe Festival, and recognition in the Top 100 Ads of 2024 by Shots magazine.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nico began studying classical piano at age 7 and was named a Steinway Young Artist at 13. He went on to teach himself music production, inspired by artists as varied as Bill Evans and Skrillex, before earning a BFA in Jazz Piano Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
