Luc CianfaraniLuc Cianfarani is a piano teacher at Riverside Music Studios. He holds a master’s degree in music composition from Boston University where he studied under Joshua Fineberg. Additionally, he holds a bachelor’s in music with a concentration in piano performance from the University of Virginia. He also spent time studying piano performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
As a classical pianist, Luc has performed in both solo and collaborative settings, including a performance at the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center. Committed to performing contemporary music, Luc has performed and collaborated with numerous living composers, and he performed the world premiere of Hui Tak-Cheung’s Water Album No. 2 with the TimeArt Studio Ensemble in 2019. In addition to his work in the classical realm, Luc is also the keyboardist for the Brooklyn-based electro pop band Late Guest at the Party.
As a composer, Luc has scored numerous short and feature films that have played at film festivals across the United States, and his concert music has been performed by ensembles such as the Tak Ensemble and Splinter Reeds. As an assistant, Luc served as the music associate for the play Coast Starlight, which ran at Lincoln Center Theater in 2023, and he was an assistant orchestrator for the video game The Faith of the Three Kingdoms.
As a piano teacher, Luc believes that each student should be taught with an individualized approach, and he works hard to find the pedagogical methods that best serve the individual needs of each student. He has taught piano to students ranging in ages from 3 years old to adults, and has extensive experience teaching students with autism.
