Braam van EedenBraam van Eeden’s is an accomplished pianist and composer.
His musical career commenced under the guidance of Dr. Daleen Kirstein in South Africa. He completed his Bachelor and Master degrees in Piano Performance at the University of Pretoria, studying under Prof. Joseph Stanford. Braam also completed as a Teacher’s Licentiate in Piano and Pedagogics at the University of South Africa.
He studied Professional Studies Diploma in Composition with Dr. Lowell Liebermann, at Mannes The New School for Music in New York City, aided by a Susan W. Rose Career Grant and an Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship.
Braam has many notable awards as a pianist and composer, including the Hesse trophy in the Beeld Eisteddfod for best piano composition of the year (2008) and the Vladimir Viardo prize for best pianist in the country, ages 20 and under (2009).
As a composer, Braam’s works have been commissioned and premiered to be performed with great success and appreciation throughout South Africa, Europe, and the United States. These works include:

Braam and his music have appeared on both radio and television, in Europe and The United States. He also featured in prominent newspapers such as The New York Times, The South African Beeld, Lake Champlain Weekly and Press-Republican, to name a few. His compositions are featured regularly on stages in The United States, Europe and South Africa, in both performance and masterclass settings.
In 2018, Braam was recognized as a Distinguished Music Teacher in New York City by the International Music Organization of New York. Braam has joined Riverside Music Studios as a passionate piano teacher who aims to create the most constructive learning experience tailored to the student’s individual needs.
