Masako YokouchiMasako Yokouchi is an accomplished piano teacher in NYC with over 15 years of experience teaching a diverse student body. She studied music theory and technology at New York University and received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from CUNY Brooklyn, where she studied with Ursula Oppens.
Her performance encompasses a wide range of contemporary classical music and has been performed at music festivals around New York City. Along with teaching and performing, Masako is also an active composer of ambient experimental music, contributing to Off-Broadway theatrical productions, art installations at MoMA PS1, and independent film productions.
A native of Japan, Masako also holds a degree in Education and a teaching certificate. She tailors piano lessons to each student’s interests and personality, and emphasizes a good fundamental skill with beginners. She has a genuine passion for music and music education and enjoys helping students discover the joy of playing the piano.
