Piano Teacher in NYC

Hyunjee Lee was born in South Korea and began playing the piano at the age of 6. She holds a Master of Music degree from Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University,under the mentorship of Alexander Shtarkman. She also earned a Bachelor of Music in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of Enrico Elisi and Nelita True.

Hyunjee is recognized as both a pianist and an accomplished music educator.

As a prestigious solo pianist, she has performed in many venues such as outdoor concerts in Spain, the Indianapolis Young Artist Concert at Indiana University in Bloomington, the Guilderland Public library in Albany NY, the First Universalist Church, the Kilbourn recital hall, the Hatch recital hall in Rochester, NY, and the Hilda and Douglas Goodwin recital hall in Baltimore, MD.

Hyunjee’s accomplishments have also been recognized by first prizes in her native Korea such as the Kuk-je International Piano Competition, Korea-Chamber Orchestra Music Competition, Yejeon International Piano Competition, and Korea-Germany International Piano Competition.

In addition to her solo performances, Hyunjee showcases her abilities by working as a collaborative pianist and accompanist. She has also served as a jury member for the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition at the New Russia Cultural Center in Bethlehem, NY.

Hyunjee has over a decade of experience as a piano instructor. She loves sharing her knowledge and expertise with students of all ages, motivating them to reach their full potential through a range of motivational approaches tailored to their individual personalities and learning styles.
